The release of a chilling manifesto by Audrey Hale, the Nashville school shooter, has unveiled a premeditated plan targeting specific groups with alarming intent. Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old who identified as transgender, attacked The Covenant School on March 27, 2023, resulting in the tragic deaths of three children and three adults. Hale's writings, which include diaries and a so-called "Death Day" manifesto, provide a disturbing insight into the motivations behind the heinous act.
The manifesto, leaked by conservative commentator Steven Crowder, revealed Hale's deep-seated animosity towards what she described as "white privileged" students. Phrases from the manifesto such as “wanna kill all you little cr*ckers” and "I hope I have a high death count" paint a harrowing picture of Hale's mindset leading up to the attack. These writings were authenticated by multiple sources and have been the subject of intense public and media scrutiny.
The Nashville trans shooter's manifesto has been revealed. Society encouraging the below thinking rather than getting trans people the mental help they desperately need is a true low point in humanity. https://t.co/vshMbPzzys pic.twitter.com/dRlsRIaCYG

Hale’s writings indicated a meticulous preparation for the attack, including a detailed schedule and expressions of readiness to die. The shooter documented feelings of excitement and nervousness, as well as reflections on previous opportunities where the plan could have been uncovered. This level of planning highlights the premeditated nature of the crime and the calculated execution of Hale’s deadly intentions.
The contents of the manifesto have sparked significant controversy and debate, particularly regarding the motivations behind the attack and the implications for the transgender community. Some fear that the manifesto’s release could incite further violence and stigmatize transgender individuals, while others argue that transparency is necessary for public safety and understanding.
The Nashville trans shooter's full manifesto/writings have still not been released. But leaked snippets provide more insight into her state of mind before killing children at a Christian school. She wrote about being autistic & violently hating her body. https://t.co/MmoN9qscWS

The Nashville Police Department has stated that Hale was being treated for an unspecified emotional disorder and had planned the attack over several months. The shooter was armed with two rifles, a handgun, and a significant amount of ammunition at the time of the attack. Hale’s methodical planning included studying other mass murderers, further underscoring the premeditated nature of the tragedy.
The response to the manifesto’s release has been mixed. Many parents and the community associated with The Covenant School have expressed a desire to keep the details private, fearing that publicizing them could lead to copycat incidents and retraumatize those affected. Conversely, there have been calls from various groups and public figures for full disclosure to ensure transparency and address underlying issues such as mental health and gun control.
In the wake of the shooting, there have been widespread calls for increased gun control and better mental health support. Protests and vigils have been held, with many advocating for stricter gun laws to prevent such tragedies in the future. The incident has also led to legislative actions aimed at improving school safety and providing resources to prevent similar attacks.
This tragic event has left an indelible mark on the Nashville community and the nation, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address the complex issues of gun violence, mental health, and societal safety. The discourse surrounding Hale’s manifesto continues to evolve as the community seeks to heal and find solutions to prevent future tragedies.
Obviously we need better mental health care because the murderer couldn’t even figure out which sex “it” was. Pretty obvious “it” needed mental health care. Also, “it” had problems with white people even though “it” was white. What we DO NOT need is more gun control unless it’s people controlling guns in the schools to ensure that a mentally deficient person like this gets shot before harming anyone else.
